Announcing Our Spring Share Your Shutters Winner

Neil Blackwelder

Spring is in full swing here in Charlotte, but don’t think we forgot about our regularly scheduled Share Your Shutters contest. Our latest winner is Tonya S., who submitted some photos of her home that truly capture the benefit shutters can bring to a home.

closed shutters in dining room

Tonya’s space features some gorgeous new Polywood® plantation shutters in her dining room. Since those shutters are shut, you can really get a glimpse of how well plantation shutters can really help you control light. Envision that dining room with a slightly softer light; it would be a picture-perfect setting for an intimate candlelit dinner, right? With plantation shutters in your dining room, you can capture that exact mood no matter what it’s like outside.

Also of note is how the white shutters complement the white trim near the floors and the white ceiling. Those neutral accents let the black wood furniture and the hardwood floor’s natural color ”pop” even more.

She didn’t stop at just one photo of her shutters, though. She also sent in a photo of her brand-new sliding barn door shutter!

wood barn door shutter

There’s a few reasons we love this barn door shutter. The first reason is that it looks fantastic. The homegrown aesthetic of the wood panel with that sleek black frame above give an enduring yet comfortable look. What we like even more than the looks is the practicality of the shutter. Her barn door shutter sits on top of the window frame, so it can effectively block light while still letting the window open and close.

Because the shutter sits outside the frame, Tonya can still use her window sill. For example, if she wanted to set some plants on the sill to get sunlight, she’s even able to close the shutter to let it soak up some rays while still controlling the light in her home.

According to Tonya this is the third time she’s chosen window treatments from Sunburst Shutters, and we want to thank her for her continued support in choosing us for all her shutter needs. For being picked as our Share Your Shutters feature this time, Tonya will get a $100 gift card to a restaurant in her area.

If you want to show off your shutters and possibly be featured on our next Share Your Shutters contest, we want to see them! Share a photo of your shutters using the hashtag #ShareYourShutters, or submit a photo to our Facebook page. We’d love to feature some shutters from a North Carolinian in our next update!

Or if looking at Tonya’s home makes you feel like your house is missing something, we want to help. Call 980-231-1116 today to talk to one of Sunburst Shutters Charlotte’s window design experts to begin.
