Not only are Polywood® shutters a completely recyclable shutter, but they are also comprised of up to 20% recycled Polywood material. We’re the only shutter company in Charlotte or even the US that does that.
Sunburst supports green products, designs, and buildings. We show our commitment by reusing any and all materials whenever possible. We recycle water that cools down items when they’re coming out of ovens. We reuse packaging materials. We reuse shutter fragments – or regrind them and recycle them into new shutters. We end up recycling hundreds of tons of materials each year.
When we prepare our window treatments for transportation to your residence for installation, we put reusable corner pieces on the edges of louvers and use minimal cardboard to box up the shutters.
Our plantation shutters are coated with patented paint finishes that are environmentally safe – and are even less than the normal volatile organic compound (VOC) emissions allowed. During our manufacturing method, none of our paints emit fumes. When we claim our paints are safe, we mean it.
Polywood Shutters do not emit dangerous gasses – so you and your loved ones can breathe easier and savor your window treatments.
The Only Shutter Recycling Program in Charlotte, NC
If you ever desire to switch out your window treatment styles, we provide a shutter recycling program in Charlotte to keep Polywood shutters out of landfills. What you have to do is simply take down the shutters yourself, and call our store manager at 980-231-1116 to set up a pick-up. We will take your shutters and reuse some of their materials in future Polywood shutters. This is true for Polywood shutters only—we are not equipped to recycle other shutter brands.
With this program, there’s no cost to you for recycling Polywood shutters. And, together, we’re aiding in keeping the environment green in Charlotte.
